Classic Tape: Rotten Apple
Rotten Apple is the second album from G-Unit artist, Llyod Banks. Despite people only really being familiar with 50 cent, Llyod Banks was a very important in the G-Unit era and this album shows it.
With 16 songs and features ranging from 50 Cent, TazzyManiak, Tony Yayo, Young Buck, Rakim, Scarface, Mobb Deep, 8 Ball, Keri Hilson and Musiq Soulchild, Rotten Apple really represented the New York sound at time and catered to different fans of hip-hop.
In songs such as "One Night Stand", "Addicted", and "Help" combines elements of R&B with hip-hop. Llyod Banks together with Keri Hilson, Musiq Soulchild, and Keon Price combine catchy R&B choruses and background vocals with a story telling story of rap and clever punchlines.
In addition to creating such a vibe, Llyod Bank also delivered for hip-hop purist. When listening to such songs as "Get Clapped", "Survival", and "Change", Llyod Bank's grimy subject matter and whitty punchlines can make anyone nod their head/pump them up.
